WORKSHOP REPORT: Natural Disaster Causing Technology Disasters in Mobile Bay Area
Natural Disaster Causing Technical Disasters in Mobile Bay
This workshop is sponsored by NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration, particularly the Gulf of Mexico Disaster Response Center.
Responding to all-hazards emergencies and disasters is most often a local or regional activity conducted under state and federal frameworks such as the National Contingency Framework and the National Contingency Plan. This NOAA workshop will focus on preparedness, planning and improving response to a potential hurricane resulting in damage to industrial/technological facilities in Mobile Bay area (e.g., oil storage). The goal of this workshop will be to evaluate mechanisms for response to a spill and understanding of affected stakeholders and tradeoffs in response in the text of a concurrent natural disaster (e.g., flooding, human impacts).
