SAFE-Arctic Nome Workshop

SAFE-Arctic Tabletop Exercise

The next phase of this effort is the Tabletop Exercise (TTX) scheduled for April 27-30, 2026.

SAFE-Arctic Workshop

The Coastal Response and Research Center (University of New Hampshire) and Decision, Risk and Data Laboratory (University at Buffalo), along with Northwest Planning, LLC with support from ADAC-ARCTIC (University of Alaska Anchorage) are pleased to host this workshop in Nome.

As background, this upcoming workshop builds on the previous CAPRI (Coastal Assessment Preparedness Response Initiative) workshop held during October 2024 in Nome. Based upon that gathering, we are excited to share the improvements incorporated into visual tools from community input and working groups web based maps in ERMA, (Arctic ERMA- click here), and  visual narratives focusing on the Nome and Teller areas.

The key objectives are to improve disaster preparedness, response and recovery; develop models/tools to support multi-stakeholder decision-making; and develop/and conduct tabletop exercises using a storm-based disaster scenario.
