This workshop was sponsored by NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration, particularly the Gulf of Mexico Disaster Response Center.

This workshop will assist NOAA ORR in advancing Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Technique (SCAT) with respect to data-standards and data-exchange.

Objectives

  • Assessment of current concerns regarding electronic data management for SCAT in oil spills;
  • Evaluation of future needs for SCAT to improve readiness and efficiency;
  • Definition of key data-standards and data-exchange formats to allow better management and sharing of SCAT data for response and NRDA; and
  • Feedback from stakeholders on NOAA's draft data-standard and data-sharing agreement strategies regarding SCAT.
